Smecky Music Studios has been a recording venue since 1943 and is situated right in the centre of Prague – near Wenceslas Square. It is spacious – large enough to accommodate a full symphony orchestra and choir – and highly prized by composers, producers and musicians for its unique, first grade acoustic qualities.

Smecky Music Studios: The Early Years

Now independantly run, Smecky Music Studios is the home of The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus but also hosts recordings by the other main Czech orchestras, various ensembles and bands.

Throughout its long and illustrious history Smecky Music Studios has recorded to an impressive range of international and award-winning music makers covering every conceivable musical gernre and style. International credits have been numerous since the Velvet Revolution and since the introduction of SOURCE CONNECT many recordings are now monitored remotely by composers and producers from their own recording studios who can both watch and listen to the session “live” in Prague.
